A test to demonstrate how well the edge holds up on my knife blade made from a shovel.
As shown, the edge held up exceptionally well.
This test is for those out there that would like to make their own knife, but have been told over and over (by people that don't actually know what they are talking about) that it's a waste of time.
It also sets the record straight on grinding: if you are careful to not overheat the steel while working it, the original hardening and temper will not be destroyed.
That includes cutting out the shape with a zipcut blade on an angle grinder.
